SATIN & GOLD

Just a random lil post today, I bought these two last week. One I am loving, the other I like but I'm not 100% sure about it.

The necklace was in the Miss Selfridge sale & I love it! It is a really simple piece that dresses up a plain t shirt nicely. The blouse, I'm not so sure about. It's satin & an oversized style - I got a ten but feel I should have bought an eight so it is less tent like but it's too late now so going to try & dress it up a little better than I did the first time!

My apologies for the dark-ish photographs - the lighting at my mum & dad's house isn't too great with the dull sky & the snow - give me a bright sky & the snow, could be perfect!

It's nearly Christmas!! Three shifts at work then it is Christmas Eve time, I'm so excited. What are everyones Christmas & New Year plans?

Oh, I recently found this Youtube, everyone has probably heard of it before but I love her style. She always looks amazing. Go check her out if you haven't already.

LINKS

I know I haven't blogged in ages but my time is totally my own now - nothing to do. At all. Just a few shifts at work then it's Christmas! I got some lovely comments on my previous post Changing times  which was really lovely so thank you for them!

I don't have any post planned for today so I've decided to just share some of my favourite blogs so here goes! Hope you find something new and inspiring to read!

Fashion

Charlotte Martin
Charlotte has the most amazing sense of style. Really simple pieces that she makes interesting & stand out-ish. Her blog is simple & to the point, letting her images and outfit do the talking.

Sitting Pretty at my Desk
Outfit posts are my favourite on here, she was the first to inspire me to post my weeks outfits. She posts ways to wear things which are good for inspiration & is a bold lipstick lover - something I dabble in but deep down long to be!

Karla's Closet
Pretty sure everyone knows this blog! Karla has amazing style & always wear interesting pieces that show off her amazing figure. I love seeing this blog pop up in my blog list with a new post.

Stripes & Red Lipstick
Stevie has a bit more of a rocky style but I love it - she works it so well & always looks amazing. Her writing is always really interesting to read & shows off her personality so well.

Beauty

The Beauty Bible
Amazing beauty posts. She is amazing at applying make up without it being too much but still it stands out - if that makes sense?! Her nail polish posts make me want to put for effort into painting my nails as hers always look amazing. Love this beauty blog.

Lauren Rose Makeup
This girl knows how to apply make up! Her make up is flawless and beautifully applied every time. She gives her honest opinions on products & has amazing pictures to accompany her posts.

Bit of everything

HRH Collection
Alex has some fashion posts, beauty & interior. Her apartment is amazing! Clean lines, monochromatic, simple pieces - it's really inspiring. She wear beautiful clothes too and is always nicely turned out.

Saskia the Style Fairy
A fellow Glaswegian (wayyyy) so you know it's going to be good - I'm only kidddding! A nice mix of interior, fashion & beauty. She always sources amazing interior pictures for inspiration - making me excited to have my first place. Her outfits are always nicely put together & on trend.

Lady Melbourne
I'm sure you've all heard of this blog, it is mostly a fashion blog but Lady M features things from around her house & the odd beauty product or what she is reading. Always beautiful images & interesting outfits.

Bits of Babs
I used to love the old blog from this blogger but she has moved & I am loving her new blog. She has gorgeous hair & always perfect make up. Definitely looking forward to seeing more from her new blog.

A final 'blog' is this from Vogue - the photo  blogs that feature 'Today I'm wearing' are my fav! Olivia Palermo has done one, Pixie Lott is doing it currently.

CHANGING TIMES

In my attempts to avoid revision & my mind entering into reminiscing time as a new year is round the corner - how mad is that, this year has gone past so quickly. So much has happened - good and bad but for the best!

I was thinking about how much I've changed since my first year at uni, a lot has changed since first year. I've lost loads of weight, cut off all my hair, dyed it red then bleached it. Have developed my own style and am comfortable with who I am. S'all good.

Major panic about my exam, so much to learn! Come on a week on Thursday at about 4pm!

Oh has anyone seen any nice pastel yellow nail polish? Feeling in the mood for yellow nails.

WINNER

Two days blogging - what is going on?!

Another outfit for you today. You've seen this blouse before in a previous outfit post, I love it. I'm not 100% sure why I love it so much but I do. It's just so pretty! It is absolutely freezing today, I should have layered up wayyy more than this, a thicker cardigan would have been a good idea but I know that now!

I actually wore this outfit on a night out with some massive platforms and loved it dressed up too. I'd say the outfits a winner!

This is the first time my Barbour Daphne jacket has been featured on here, it was a birthday present from my mum and dad - looove it. So easy to wear & cosy when layered well.

Not too much else to say really, pretty fed up with uni at the moment - fed up putting in effort to have it thrown back in my face but it's nearly holiday time which means I can see my fam-jan yayyy! I'm going to put in extra effort for the last two weeks of this semester and if it doesn't pay off Imna be sooo pissed off...

Hopefully my picture are a little bit better quality today?! Hopefully. I was messing around trying to find a good spot - the lighting in this room is pants!

Blouse - New Look
Shorts - Vintage Levi
Tights - Asda 100 denier thermal (£3!!)

BLACK ON BLACK

I really need to sort out my picture taking location, you can't see stuff properly cause of the brown chest of drawers in the background anddd the light from the window makes the pictures hazy! My apologies about that, I shall work on it! Promise.

I wasn't sure about this outfit at first but I really like it now, it's simple but not too casual - I don't really feel comfortable being 100% casual. A new thing I've been doing for the past few days is two scarves. Basically my fur stole for warmth and a silky scarf underneath. I really like the look of the two scarves.

I have finished all my essays for this semester just one exam two weeks today (eeek) and then I am done for Christmas holidays! Asking for a shopper/tote style bag for Christmas. I've seen a few nice ones so we will see what Santa brings!

Body - New Look
Jeans - Kristen Topshop

Necklace - Topshop
Scarf - Vintage
Fur stole - Topshop

WITH A BOW TIE & SPARKLE.

How amazing is Kim Kardashians outfit?!

I love it. The bow tie, the sparkly blazer. It is just amazing. I love an androgynous look with a touch of 'girly-ness', it makes a really classy, chic outfit. Love.

Team Kim K baby!

STANDARD BLONDE

I like this outfit. The jumper is a little shapeless but I liked wearing it so I guess that is what matters really. My fur stole is from last Christmas - amazing Christmas present. I love it especially with my leather biker jacket which is a nice change from my Barbour Daphne.

I went pretty ring heavy today too but it gives a nice modern, tough edge the to the fur stole I think. I am wearing, which you can't see, a new lip gloss from Collection 2000. I had a nude one in rock steady but saw the lilac version, Twisted Disco which is a gorgeous pale lilac colour.

I got my hair cut & re-dyed this week at a different hair dressers although I'm not really happy with the colour, I wanted a more peroxide colour but that isn't what she has given me. It's a bit too standard blonde for my liking!

Jumper, skirt & Shirt - H&M
Jacket - Oasis
Stole - Topshop
Shoes - New Look
Rings - Topshop, H&M

OUT THERE

I love Kourtney's style! It is out there but the pieces she wears are just so beautiful. x

WARMTH

Just a simple outfit today. Excuse my cheery face, not sure what was going on there. This is one of the Zara jumpers - I love them. They are so cosy & easy to wear.

I'm just wearing my Topshop Kristen jeans - the high waisted ones- I noticed today that after only two washes they are already starting to fade! £40 for that... pffft! My boots which you can just see are the ones from Topshop, think they are the Alec lace ups - something like that. I love them although I'm not use to wearing heavy shoes so I feel I stomp a little in them. Always good. I just had a simple gold ring on & added my Barber jacket. Winter warmer right thurr.

Weekend was good. Went out, got far to drunk but it was good. Got to see my brother too so can't complain apart from the hangover yesterday which was disgusting especially at work. Self inflicted.

Hope you're all well.

EYES

This was requested by Caity hearts fashion, basically how I do my everyday smokey eye look. If you want ore detail I can do that no problem maybe in a video or something but for now here is what I use and step-by-step instructions.

I normally do my eye make up a little heavier than this but was having a not so heavy day this time it seems! I, also, sometimes do winged eye liner on the top lash line and the the smokey-ness underneath depending on how I am feeling that day. If I do this look I use MAC fluidline with Barbara Daly liquid liner pen.

Products used...

Estee Lauder Double wear eyeliner in Black & Brown
MUA Black shade (Shade 20 matt)
MUA Dark Brown shade (Shade 19 matt)
H&M Brown palette
YSL Shocking faux cils mascara
Rimmel Extra wow lash (I use either of these mascaras, just which ever  I pick up first!)

Bruches used...

MAC 239
Avon angled brush
No7 Pencil brush
No7 Blending brush

Steps...

Top lash line
 - Line the top lash line with quite a thick line using the black eye pencil & set this using a black or dark brown eye shadow, again depending on the look, using an angled brush.
- Using a sponge top applicator, pencil brush or shader brush smudge the eye liner & shadow until is soft and smokey.

Bottom lash line
- Use the black or brown eye pencil 3/4 of the way into the eye.
- Place different shades of brown over the top of the liner, starting with the lightest & building it up with darker colours. Pressing on & smudging as you go. I like to use 3/4 different shades - usual a light one, bit darker, bit darker etc.
- Finish with darkest brown or black (depending on what I fancy) in outer corner & smudged again so it all blends together.

Then apply lots of mascara to the top & bottom lashes.

Hope this was helpful!

FACT

I was tagged by the lovely  Caity Hearts Fashion to do this, so thank you for that! Go check out her blog!!

So the rules for this award are...
- Link back the person who gave you the award.
- Write seven random facts about yourself that people may not necessarily know.
- Link and award your favourite bloggers so that you can spread the blogging love!

Seven random facts about moi...

1. I am a total gym bunny (I might not look it...)

I love going to the gym, it makes me feel good about myself & so much more confident. I started going in March this year & have become a regular there. It has completely changed the way I see myself & is something I really enjoy.

2. Hugh Jackman is my all time love

He is just the dream! Handsome, charming, can sing, can act, can dance, is funny. He is the whole package. Some crushes have come and gone but the Jackman has stayed always!

3. I detest the colour purple

The colour is just gross! It only works on a handful of people others it just doesn't work on. I am one that it doesn't work on. You will never catch me in purple. Although I do have a lilacy Blackberry cover but my phone suits it...

4. I have a small group of close friends

I love my little group of friends. I trust them and can tell them anything. We've been through up and downs together but the support I've had from them, particularly in the summer was just amazing. Really made me see how lucky I am.

5.  My mum is my best friend

I know I said I have a small group of friends that have my back regardless but my mum is my total true, best friend. She has always been there & I can tell her anything without her judging me. I tell her everything mundane pointless stuff, my worries etc, about boys - anything. She will listen. Love my mama muchly!

6. I am addicted to period dramas

Downton Abbey, Pride & Prejudice, The Tudors - anything like that, I love. They are just so much more 'fantasy' TV - in a way - than watching something modern although I am a fan of 'modern' TV. Kardashians for the win!

7.  I am a first class sandwich lover

My brother & I make amazing sandwiches - if we do say so ourselves. You can't beat a good sandwich with lots of fillings. They are just the best!

So there are my rather ahem random facts for you.

I am meant to name blogs butttt there are so many so feel free to do this and link me!

SHOCKING

Just another random little post featuring a couple of other birthday presents. The first is my favourite mascara, YSL Faux Cils but the 'shocking' version. I like it but there is a really floral scent to it which I didn't notice with the original version but it is my holy grail mascara so can't complain!

I have a thing for tea cups. I love them. Pretty ones particularly. My mum spotted this one in Topshop and instantly thought of me! It is so pretty and delicate, with a quirky edge. Loooove it! I don't want to use it for tea just yet - it's too pretty for that! So for now it has pride of place on one of my shelves.

I'm off to work soon. Boo hoo!! After a week off work I really don't want to go back! Must think of the money and the pretty things I can buy with it! I will, promise, do my eye make up post this week, Friday probably maybe tomorrow but it will be this week.

Not much else has been going on, pretty quiet after my birthday bash. I am planning on taking a trip into town soon to see about a pencil skirt. I really want a black one with a textured fabric. I have seen one in Topshop and one in Miss Selfridge but need to go in to the shops to try them on and see what the material is like.

Have a good day x

NAVY & CORAL

Yesterday was my 22nd birthday. I got some lovely presents & had a really lovely time with my family and chums celebrating. I had been searching about for some nice knitwear as winter is pretty much here - boo hoo! Whilst browsing the Zara website one night I came across some really nice oval neck jumper, of course I instantly fell in love with them and hinted to my brother about getting one as a birthday present.

My birthday rolled around & I opened my present from him and he bought me two of them! Nicest brother ever I think. One is a navy and the other a beautiful coral - with more orange than red - colour. Both have gold button detail on the cuffs and are a beautiful soft knit. Really loving them!

I will be doing a post on my eye make up soon as it was requested so that will be up soon.

Hope you're all well :) x

FEELING CLASSY

So this is my birthday party outfit. I love it so much and will definitely be wearing it again. I felt very lady like and classy ... then I got drunk! ha It was an amazing night, had such a good time. Best birthday party ever. Roll on my actual birthday on Monday!

I have an essay due on Wednesday, no idea what I'm really doing for it but fingers crossed! I want to get back into blogging more regularly, miss coming on here and writing whatever comes into my head. Birthday resolution - blog more!

Hope you're all well.

CONTENDED SOUL

Just a random post today, I feel like blogging so I'm going to. Afraid it is going to be random rambles - lucky you. I am meant to be doing uni work but it is one of those assessments where I have no idea how to start so am forever putting it off. Bad idea but I never learn.

I have two shifts at work then off for a week for my birthday, very exciting. I am really happy with my outfit which always makes nights out go a lot smoother I think. I will get a decent picture and no doubt post about it as I love it so much. I posted this picture (above) to my dailybooth with a caption saying I actually look and feel happy in this picture and it is the first time I've felt like this in ages which is true - I have been feeling a bit lost recently but I think things are starting to pick up which is never a bad thing!

I wore my Topshop boots for the first time today, love them. So cosy and nice although I am not 100% if I like them styled with jeans but maybe I just need to play about with them a little bit. Also, bought myself some 100 denier thermal tights from Asda for, wait for it .... £3!! They are so frickin cosy & a total bargain.

Not sure I have much else to ramble on about & waste you good peoples time.

Oh actually, one more thing Jen a very lovely blogger commented on my last post & as I normally do I check if she has a blog which she does. Go check it out, she is amazing. LINK

Have a good weekend & I'll no doubt be back procrastinating soon!

SPARKLE

My 22nd second birthday is soon, the 31st of October to be exact and I wanted something special to wear. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to wear based around my new midi skirt from New Look and some pink Moda in Pelle peep toes. I knew I wanted a bralet to wear with it so after much hunting and pleads for help on Twitter I found this little beauty on Etsy.

It is a vintage, sequinned bralet that fits perfectly & is exactly what I had been searching for! Love!

THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKING

BLACK & LEOPARD

Another webcam outfit I am afraid - I can't get my Canon camera to focus. I've tried playing about but lost my temper so this will have to do for now. Nothing that interesting just jean shorts, a body with a leopard print scarf & MAC Chatterbox lipstick.

Also, my lovely new ring from H&M - I love it and a bargain at £3.99!!

A BLOUSE WITH A BOW

Told you I'd get an outfit of the day out today! I was a little skeptical about this outfit at first but after wearing it today I can safely say I love it. I love this blouse anyway but I love it with my jeans too. Casual but more interesting that jeans & a T-shirt.

I was in uni for two hours today, I love my lecturer he is so interesting - dare I say it, I am actually enjoying uni this year! Second year was a total write off year for me both academically & personally but I have grown a lot from it so I can't moan really.

Hope you are all well & have had a good Monday :)

RAMBLE

Just a random web cam picture form the other night, messing about while waiting for party people. I like my eye make up here. True story. I, also, look a touch like Jedward! Wayyyy Safe to say on that night out, I have never felt my 21 years more...

Anyways I just felt like a ramble, outfit of the day coming up tomorrow for sure - going to get back into the swing of things, I miss blogging! x

A NUDE CHARM ON HER ARM

I had planned on doing a longer post than this but I managed to mess up the rest of the pictures so I'm afraid it is just my new 'Mui Mui' handbag for you all this Friday evening. I bought it on Ebay & was surprised to find it on my doorstep this morning, I wasn't expecting it for another two weeks! Nice surprise.

I had planned on showing a few clothing items I have acquired in the recent weeks but as I mentioned I messed up the pictures so alas they won't feature tonight. I might just do outfits featuring them then you can get a better idea of how they sit etc.

I will be back to blogging properly again soon, I went back to uni this week & have been working a lot - feel like I've not sat about & done nothing for ages. Once I get back into the swing of things I will definitely be back to blogging more regularly. Mark my words!

SHOES MADE FOR A PRINCESS

Long time know see, I have got a few pieces to show you but for now I will leave you with these beauties. Glitter heels from Schuh. Best £65 I've ever spent. They are so unbelievably gorgeous, amazing shoes.

In other news, I'm back at uni now - third year is upon us, decided to work hard this year seen as it is important and all that. Watch this space... x

DANCING SHOES.

No matter where I take pictures in my room I always look like a giant. I'm only 5ft8! I'm off out tomorrow night and I'm not sure what to wear. After trying on some clothes I settled on my nude leather shorts, black body, leopard print belt & wedges. I feel wasitless & blob like! What do we think?

Oh also bleached blondes of this world, do you wash your hair everyday?

BLONDE AMBITION

So I got my hair bleached yesterday. I really love it - total change but a good one. Was at my Granny & Grandpa's 60th Wedding Anniversary & then headed into town for a friends 24th. Was a good night so nice to have a night out at home. x

SEQUINS & ANGEL WINGS

I have a weekend of partying ahead of me - it's a hard life - so I had to get a new piece to wear. Anything else would just be total madness... I have found myself going for more simple pieces I guess you could say rather than something crazy & totally on trend. Pieces that will carry me through. This sequined top from Zara is a good example, it is a really simple, interesting piece that can be worn in so many ways. It was only £19.99 & I totally love it! I am planning on wearing it with a bandage skirt or jeans & some heels.

I also got this little angel wing red string bracelet this week from ebay, it is so pretty and simple. It was posted really nicely too. I did get some half wet look-half normal leggings from Misguided but they were wayyy to short. Like half down my calf too short - was not a good look!

Something very exciting is happening on Saturday at 11am but all will be revealed very soon... I was at the gym this morning & totally loved it. I am getting back in to it so much - my fitness and stamina are at an all time high, it is just making me feel so much better about myself!

My loving is the way to go

I don't know why this picture is slightly blurry, my camera is being weird today but you can get the jist of it. Red jeans, studded belt & the rest black! I love my red jeans. I bought an amazing top in Zara today - I will show you soon, it is just so amazing.

Not much else has been happening just the usual, uni goes back in two weeks & I have a few nights out the next few weeks so might squeeze in a couple of outfits from them as I always do daytime looks.

Had a little down when I was contacted by someone I really don't want to be contacted by. He doesn't deserve my time & definitely not my tears but I just need to be strong & ignore him. He isn't my prince charming that is for sure!

Blazer - H&M, Body, jeans & shoes - New Look, Belt - Zara, Bag - Marc B via Ebay

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS

Bit of a different post featuring some beauty products that I have been really impressed with lately, not many just four but I didn't want to bombard you with lots of products! So the four I've decided to feature are ...

Superdrug Natural High 12 hour day cream.

This was about £2.50 odd in Superdrug - obviously - it is a fabulous cream! Nice, thick consistency that really does keep your skin hydrated for at least 12 hours. My make up applies really nicely over the top and for £2 odd you can't really go wrong! Definitely would recommend this.

Barbara Daly Make up Concealer.

I bought this on a whim when I was food shopping, it was about £4.95 which isn't too bad for a good under eye concealer. I picked this up in fair which is a little light for me but really brightens up underneath my eyes, a little goes along way so I'm guessing this will last a while but when it does eventually run out I will be repurchasing!

Barry M Nail polish in Navy.

An old favourite, a nice change from black nails, looks perfect with a tan. It is just a really gorgeous colour.

Clinique Super moisture make up.

This is my go-to foundation. My skin is pretty dry so this along with the Superdrug cream keeps me moisturised all day along with giving a lovely dewy finish. It isn't a full, heavy coverage so looks quite natural and nice. I am for sure a Clinique convert. 100%.

So that is a few products I'm liking at the moment. Not too much else has been happening lately, I came home for a few days before uni starts back in a few weeks. I've not been doing too much - gym, work, not going out in order to save much needed money. Exciting. I started pilates classes which I am really enjoying. They are helping with my back pains so s'all good. x

MAKE MINE A PAPAYA PUNCH

I absolutely love this lipstick by Sleek in Papaya Punch. It is a orange coral with a matte finish, so bright and summery. I love it! I am without a doubt going to buy a few more Sleek lipsticks. I was thinking of making a few videos just for something different, let me know if that is something you would be interested in.

I am working all weekend then going to see my mum & dad on Sunday night which I am so excited about, I love their house! x
