Camel, Cuts & chatter

A wee bit picture heavy but I love this outfit. It is perfect for day & night as I demonstrated on Tuesday night. I hadn't been on a proper night out since ... April! So on Tuesday night I got my glad rags on & hit the town. I wore my new camel jeans from New Look with an off the shoulder black top from Zara, a simple gold necklace from Topshop & my New Look wedges. I also wore my lovely 17 lipstick in hot chilli which in the club photo looks red (?!) My friend & I thought it would be funny to jump in this picture, the other two girls we don't know!

It is basically the same outfit that I wore during the day a few weeks above, pictured above, expect I wore a tshirt & some flats. I love the outfit. The trousers are difficult to get hold of though. I got my haircut on Tuesday morning - it desperately needed done. I got a different hair dresser & really like what she has done with my hair. It takes seconds to style.

In other news, I've finished my six days of work & my day off today is very welcome. My flat is a tip so plan on tidying that up & just perusing blogs  watching youtube videos. Probably all in my jammies. Might sneak in a quick watch of An affair to remember (Cary Grant, Swoooon) & Angus, Thongs - which made one of my flatmates cry when she watched it...

I have a few posts coming up, I'm happy I got back into blogging. I love writing my rambly thoughts down. I;m thinking of doing a my secrets posts like the youtube videos & have a few products coming up. Hopefully I will go to my parents next week so I can pinch my brothers camera again for a wee while until I get mine back, they've only had it since April!

Sunday Rambles.

Following this post  about my black shoes ,pictured on the left, with my trousers I got a few comments about black shoes & how you can never have to many basically. That said while packing for my little trip home I decided for some reason to pack three pairs of black heels. I love these shoes. They are all a little bit different which made them appeal to me I guess. Who wants boring shoes?!

I love them all for different reason but I think the ones in the middle which are from Dorothy Perkins are my favourite, probably because they are the newest ones. Plus they have flowers one the front & a thick heel.

On another note, I am still trying to get over my 'mountain' that I have been struggling with for the last few weeks. I have ups and downs, been having a down for the past few days trying to find ways to keep myself occupied. Blogging helps but I can't be forever blogging - you'd all come kill me! I have had a tumblr for a while & have been tumberling a lot so if you are on there come on over & say howdy.

I know that things will get better, this is just something that is going to make me stronger but it is difficult being away from my family & away from people that don't understand I am still trying to get back to myself. I have just finished day 3 of 6 days work. I am tired & probably will get an early night. As much as I say I hate work, it is a good distraction so I can't really complain.

Everyone have a good weekend? x

Hair today, gone tomorrow

I said I would show you all my hair when I had dyed it, this is 2/3 washes in, it has faded a little despite using red shampoo & conditioner and the conditioner that comes with the dye on rotation but red hair always fades fast. Just how it is. It probably hasn't faded that much, I'm probably just overly picky & harsh on things.

The third picture washes me out but you can see more of the redness than in the picture that aren't taken directly in front of the window. I really love red undertones in my hair, they warm up my skin tone & make my eye more blue. My hairdresser was freaking out the first time I went in, he was like 'It's really weird, the red makes your eyes even more blue & pop. It's just so weird.

My Haircare Routine.

Pre dye - Vosene

I used Vosene to remove any left over dye from before. A previous hairdresser told me to use this when I had a dye disaster a few years back. It takes my hair back to it's natural state then I use loads of conditioner. After using this I normal dye my hair the next day.

Hair Dye

I use L'loreal recital preference as it was recommended by a previous hairdresser & I've never had any problems with it. Colour are always true to box & work out even etc. The only L'loreal hair dye I had a problem with was the Excellence Creme which turned my hair black but the Recital Preference I've had no trouble with in the 3/4 years I've used it.

Washing & Styling

I was my hair everyday unless I am doing absolutely nothing then I have a rest day. I use whatever shampoo & conditioner I pick up from the shops. Normally, Lloreal colour Elive one for dyed hair, Aussie or the John Fredia colour one. I use the John Fredia red shampoo and conditioner as I feel it prolongs my colour as does the Aussie colour mate range which I love. The Aussie 3 minute miracle treatment is good for stopping your get that dry, coarse look that dying it can give the end.

In terms of styling, I have short hair. Normally cropped so if it is cropped it is a case of blow drying it probably put some thickening product say VO5 thickening spray or a mousse normally Aussie or James Brown. Lee Stafford has good stuff too! Then some wax normally a She Umera feather light one I got from the hairdressers.

As my hair is a little longer at the moment I use a VO5 shine spray before straightening my fringe which stop it looking dry & curling out as my hair has a tendency to do when it needs cut. After that it is pretty much done. In total it takes about 5 minutes.

Opinions please!!

I meant to take pictures on my brothers camera before my brother took it on tour with him but I forgot so had to use my mum & dad's laptop webcam which doesn't pick up the detail of the dress. Basically I want your opinions on it. I'm not 100% sure about it, it is quite short but don't listen to me I want your honest opinions.

I would wear it with my coral Moda in Pelle heels or some nude ones. Keep everything else simple. Let me know what you think though.

I got m new ipod yesterday which was a total surprise considering I didn't expect it till next week at the earliest! I am meant to be packing to go back to my flat but I've yet to start...

Hair, Make up & rambles

I went shopping on Friday night, the aim was to get a fathers day present which I did get but I couldn't resist picking up a few things for myself. I was going to get some red jeans but they didn't have any :( I was tempted by books in Waterstones also but again restrained myself as Amazon is cheaper...

I finally found the hair dye I had been searching for 5.56 Cayenne red mahogany brown, I'm excited but kinda nervous about trying it... It looks a pretty colour though & I think will look good with some bright lips. I will let you know how the hair dye process goes. Fingers crossed it is not a total disaster! My mum was going for a new mascara & went to the Lancome counter, you could buy one mascara for £20 or two for £26 (??) so she got two for £26 & kindly gifted me one. I love Lancome mascaras, they were the first mascara brand I ever used. The mascara is Hypnose which I've used before & loved so it's all good in the hood.

I bought two dolly bows, is that what they are called, from Primark. I wanted to try them & that £1.50 you can't really go wrong. Anything more than that is just overpriced in my opinion. I got a black one with white hearts & a cream floral one. I also treated myself to a new make up bag from Superdrug. £3.50 what a bargain! Plus it's pretty.

Not too much is happening, I'm in Glasgow till Friday then it's back for a solid week of work Friday to a week on Sunday. Think of the money, think of the money... I do have a night out planned a week on Tuesday - my first since April which is totally not like me! I wanted your opinions on a dress first off & an outfit idea I have planned out in my head.

My ipod touch broke in March then the people that 'fixed' it broke it more so I have been ipod-less for a few months so last night I decided to give in & buy a new one which I am very excited about! Just need to wait 7-14 days for it to arrive. Bad times. Think the protective cover will come before the ipod. Fail. x

Shoes, shoes, shoes

While choosing my little red Miss Selfridge sling backs for my outfit on Friday I randomly picked up these black New Look shoes. I have a ridiculous number of black heels. What can I say, they are staples. I liked these for the almost oval shaped toe & triangular heel. They are just a little quirky & not like any other shoes I own. I tried them on with my (navy) Zara trousers which I also have in black & I really love the look.

Would make a nice change for a night out outfit instead of a dress or skirt.

Leopard print & red shoes

I woke yesterday morning to, as a mentioned, a lovely comment & I was feeling good, positive you could say.  Then my outfit photographed well & my make up looked semi-decent if a little shiny. Thanks to High beam for my 'glow'. I love that stuff!

I love leopard print. I am on the hunt for some leopard print heels, ballet flats too possibly a bag too. Nothing too leopard pint in terms of the bag - that could turn out to be tacky...

I love these red shoes from Miss Selfridge. They just make me so happy. Probably not the best choice of footwear as it is raining in Glasgow today but they are too pretty to leave lying around. They are a rubbery material after all. The bag is a favourite too which was a present from my friends on my 21st. The lock has broken, should really get it fixed. One day.

Going to a shopping centre tonight with my mum & brother thinking of getting a dolly bow, leopard print hopefully, some red jeans & possibly some nude ballet flats. Hair dye too. Exciting I know.

I've not been wearing much jewerelly lately, probably because I brought hardly anything home! Bad packer city centre.

Hopefully I should get my Canon camera back soon after I pay the £92 (!!) to get it fixed even though it was only bought in October... practically paying 3/4 of the original price. Not impressed but it's a good camera & worth the money so I should stop moaning really.

Ahoy Sailor!

In my cupcake mug today... cranberry, raspberry & elderflower tea. It is kinda like drinking diluting juice without water but it's not too bad plus the cranberry is good for you!

Watching NME the other day & Foster the People came on. They are so addictive to listen too, totally loving them right now. I love randomly coming across bands or songs that I like. (I say 'totally' too much in sentences but only when I'm writing, I never say it orally...)

Quick outfit, nothing too exciting. I have no idea what I was thinking when I was packing to come to my parents for a few days. I brought about 3 tops?! This is my mums tshirt that I pinched while she was at work but I actually really like the way it sits. I want some new denim shorts, not sure I like these New Look ones anymore or that they are very flattering. The necklace is one of my favourites that I have. It is just so simple & delicate. I remember buying it in Topshop & the guy at the till was pure in love with it too.

I woke up this morning to find a lovely comment from Claire Alexandra on my previous post, it was such a nice way to start the day. Go check her out.

Have a good day everybody & take care :) x

Random rambles from the other day!

Wasn't sure what to blog about today. Not got anything fashiony related to say. I haven't got dressed properly the last two days, they've been joggies kinda days. Doubt my disheveled look would interest anybody, probably put you off more than anything. So instead I've decided to post some random things from around my room at my mum & dads.

I was sorting out my room & decided a pretty bowl would be a handy way to store some of the rubbish that is living on my bedside table. I kind of like the messy, random look of it. I'm currently reading Linda La Plante 'Cold Shoulder', actually really enjoying it. It's not my normal genre of book. I normally read chick-lit stuff but I thought I might as well try a thriller for a change, it's actually so good.

Been enjoying green tea a lot recently, especially in my little cup cake mug from Homebase. My lovely mum bought me some bright orange flowers for me room to cheer me up & she knows orange is my favourite colour. They are just so cheery staring out from the corner of my room.

Not too much else to say really, still to dye my hair. Decided to return the dye I bought originally as it hasn't been used & I don't want the ulta violet-ness. Will see what I end up with this time. x

Who's that chick?

I went to the dentist the other day & obviously couldn't come back empty handed. That would just be wrong & sensible instead I bought a lipstick, I need it honest, and some tame & shine spray from VO5. I did need this as I had run out of Lee Stafford flat iron spray stuff. The lipstick is 17 Lasting Fix in Hot Chilli. It is a gorgeous orange red. I just totally love it. I think it will look better with a fake tan as I am pretty pale just now but I couldn't resist trying it out. The top photo is without flash & the bottom is obviously with! I'm a bit apprehensive of how it will look with my new hair colour but the clash might be nice.

I got the colour 3.66 dark red ulta violet, which I thought was my normal hair dye but it's not I normally get 4.65 Grenada Deep Mahogany red but we will see how this one turns out, obviously it will be darker but change is nice. I'm thinking of going proper red next dye with 6.66 Babylon or 5.56 Cayenne red mahogany brown which I love. Sure you're all like right Emma shut about this now, we don't care. I will stop now. The L'loreal website is actually really helpful.

Speaking of hair, I have been wondering what to do with hair for a while at the moment I look like a burst cushion then one night I was watching some music channel & Rihanna Who's that chick came on & I fell in love with her hair. I don't think I'd get it shaved in like hers probably just cut in, not brave enough for shaving it. Anyways enough random rambles about my hair! x

Hat hair & a horse.

I hate my face but love my horse belt... I desperately need to tan & dye my hair. I look like a ghost with a very bad hat on. Not a very positive way to start a post  but it is true.

I didn't do much today but did come home with a new lipstick which will be featured in my next post, that's the plan anyways. It is such a gorgeous colour. What a tease I am! Anyone see the new season of Keeping up with the Kardashians? At the family dinner, Kourtney's lipstick was gorgeous such a nice red. Kardashians = guilty pleasure. Plus they are good role models in terms of accepting your body & that stick thin isn't necessarily the only way to be 'attractive'.

Another blogspiration linko ....Love Indigo her hair both style & colour are amazing plus she wears some pure (wee bit of Glaswegian coming out there) amazing outfits!

I think my blogs a bit 'pink' - I am by no means a 'pink girl', for some reason pink just happened to creep onto my blog... it's bright & cheery if a little pink but I can live with it for now! I really need to get back to the gym but have another week & a bit of recovery before that can happen... I write like I'm annoyed as much as I like the gym, yeah I'm sad, not going is also pretty good too. Every cloud I guess.

Nails, Tunes & Blogspiration

A quick, very bad picture of my Asda George nail polish in Meteoroid. I love it. The greeny-blue hue is a summer shade that's sort of unexpected. Makes a nice change from the normal summer colours I choose & for £1 you can't beat it! (I love the fact that I used the word 'hue' in a sentence...)

As I mentioned before I'm having loads of luck finding amazing blogs at the moment, I came across Milkbubbletea this morning when I read the comment she had left on my previous post. Go check her blog out, it's so pretty & a good read. Also, if anyone else has a blog link me in the posts or if you know of blogs I'd like. I love getting inspiration from blogs.

I have been looking into dressmaking classes as I want to learn how to & am a total novice plus it would be a good hobby. I have a found a few classes & have looked into them, they don't seem to pricey so hopefully I will be starting that soon.

I am totally loving Snow Patrol. I have loads of 'favourtie' songs of theirs but at the moment Crack the shutters is in the lead, Signal Fire is a close second... I can never make a final choice! I've also been listening to We are Scientists Barbara album a lot recently. It's just so happy like bouncy kinda songs & easy to listen too.

Bit of a random rambly post. I'm planning on doing an outfit today & possibly having a rifle round some charity shops possibly stop into Boots too, to buy more lipsticks that I probably don't need...

Florals & Strides

I definitely do not need more nail polish but when I saw these colours I just had to get them. They are so bright & summery plus I don't have anything like them in my collection. A deeper colour & a more bright coral are essentials, don't ya know!

I didn't do too much yesterday, after I did this outfit & went out for a few hours with my mum I spent most of the afternoon/evening in bed before having a good cry to my mum & sleeping amazingly well. I love trousers, jeans I'm not such a fan of but trousers I love! I'm not too sure about combining the top with the trousers as the top is a big shapeless but I like it & was comfortable which is what matters really.

I bought a brown-red hair dye, I realised this morning that it is one darker than the one I'd used in the past & is ulta violet but I'm sure it'll be fine. Need to get my tan on big time too although I am enjoying the pale look at the moment.

Favourite Fashion TV?

I am totally obsessed with Fashion Police. Joan Rivers is amazing. She is so unbelievably funny & totally makes the show.

I am also developing a little bit of a girl crush on Kelly Osbourne. Her outfits are just totally amazing (I say totally & amazing too often!) Sitting watching Fashion Police at 8am I decided to have a hunt for some Kelly O's looks that I love. She just seems to keep it really simple & classic plus she wears amazing lipstick. Winner! x
